ABOUT MIKE

Mike Beckham is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Simple Modern, a global producer of premium drinkware and lifestyle products. Founded in 2015 and based in Oklahoma, Simple Modern currently generates a nine-figure annual revenue and is committed to generosity, donating at least 10% of annual profits to nonprofit organizations. Under Mike’s leadership, the company has grown into a category leader for Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Sam’s Club, serving more than 20 million customers worldwide.

Mike is a teacher, leader, and entrepreneur at heart. Before founding Simple Modern, Mike began his career working for the worldwide Christian ministry CRU. Equipped with a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector, Mike transitioned into the business world and helped found and operate several e-commerce businesses, which cumulatively generated more than $1 billion in revenue. Mike graduated with a degree from the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business, where he currently serves as the senior entrepreneur-in-residence.

  • Culture & Leadership

Since day one, Simple Modern’s company culture has prioritized generosity, relationships and excellence. Under Mike’s leadership, Simple Modern is fostering a vibrant and supportive company culture in Oklahoma and setting an example for other companies and organizations across the state and the nation.

In 2022, Simple Modern was recognized as a Great Place to Work-Certified™ company, and 100% of Simple Modern employees said that the company was a great place to work compared to 59% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company.

  • E-Commerce

When Simple Modern began in 2015, the majority of the company’s competitors were prioritizing distribution in physical retail. However, Mike and his two co-founders decided to take a digital-first strategy and focused on e-commerce. Today, Simple Modern is a top-ranked seller on Amazon, and the brand’s DTC channel is experiencing greater than 100% year-over-year growth.

Prior to founding Simple Modern, Mike also helped found and operate several other successful e-commerce businesses, which cumulatively generated more than $1 billion in revenue.

  • Entrepreneurship

Mike and his two co-founders bootstrapped Simple Modern in 2015, and the company began as a team of three employees with limited capital. Today, Simple Modern is one of the fastest-growing, privately-held companies in the United States and currently generates a nine-figure annual revenue.

Mike also currently serves as the senior entrepreneur-in-residence at the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business, investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs.

  • Generosity & Giving

Simple Modern’s mission statement is, “We exist to give generously.” Under Mike’s leadership, the company gives at least 10% of annual profits to nonprofit organizations every year, and giving is focused on five core areas: education, clean water supply, the fight to end human trafficking, marginalized communities, and homelessness.

In 2022, Simple Modern gave more than $1 million across 45 different nonprofit organizations. In all of its giving initiatives, Simple Modern strives to make a positive impact in the world and cast vision for other companies and organizations to give generously as well.

  • Manufacturing & Supply Chain

In the aftermath of the pandemic, Simple Modern faced massive economic and logistical disruptions related to the global supply chain: product shortages, chaos at the ports, and inflation and rising prices among other issues.

To combat these issues and better serve customers, Mike’s careful analysis and strategic vision led Simple Modern to begin domestic manufacturing in 2022. To date, the company has invested $6 million in domestic manufacturing to date, and the company intends to produce more than 1.5 million units in 2023.
